Since 2007, Elizabeth Strianese Interiors has been a design firm that collaborates closely with great people to create dynamic, evocative interiors that look like no place else. Each project showcases the spirit of the craftspeople that we partner with: exposed joints in cabinetry, glaze variations in handmade tiles, and welding marks in bespoke light fixtures. From an entire refurbishment through to a furniture and fixture refresh, our multi-disciplinary team transforms a space through a tailored blend of beautiful materials, well-crafted furnishings, and luxurious fabrics. As well as interior design, our team is skilled in interior architecture, furniture design, and millwork design which allows us to deliver exceptional bespoke projects.
Types of Projects
Full Project Service If you have a large or complex renovation or even a new build project in mind, our Full Project Service means we take care of every aspect of the interior design - from concept to completion. We work in close collaboration with you, your architect, and the general contractor to create breathtaking designs. We will create “presentation documents” to establish the mood of each room with specific options for you to choose from. After working closely with you to make your design selections, we then communicate those items and construction directions to the builder via a full set of drawings to supplement the architect of record. Before construction, we manage all customization and purchasing of materials and furnishings. During construction, we collaborate with the builder to ensure all plans are executed accurately and in a timely manner.
Kitchen and Bath Design For many of our clients, the kitchen is the heart of the home. Bathrooms too are “public” spaces which set the tone for their home’s style. We recognize the key lifestyle roles these rooms can play, and we will work with you to plan every last detail. Decorate and Furnish Our expert team will meet with you to build a full understanding your needs and then create a unique and beautiful scheme with detailed finishes for furniture, lighting, carpets, window treatments, wallpapers, paint colors and accessories. We can work with you to either install “as-we-go”, or create a dramatic and client friendly “installation day” to surprise you with a fully completed turn-key space. The bones of the design depend upon a good floor plan, which our skilled design team take great care to draw up detailing the arrangements of furniture, fixtures and fittings.
Purchasing
In order to procure exceptional items for your home, we work with a number of specialist artisan furniture makers, cabinet makers, suppliers, and craftspeople from the Hudson Valley and further afield. This is a critical part of the project and must be included in our contract whether we are being hired for Full Project Service or simply Decorate and Furnish services. A percentage is charged on top of procured net pricing of materials and furnishing which are offered exclusively to the trade. Often, we are able to pass along part of that discount to our clients.
Fee Structure
Designers charge for their services in many ways. Over the years, we have found that a hybrid method of charging for our services has been the most equitable. As such, we will charge an hourly fee for our services coupled with a procurement fee percentage on trade purchases.
