BEACON LOFT THREE

HUDSON VALLEY, NY

In an abandoned mill building in the Hudson Valley, we led the design of a full, new build loft. There were lots of challenges due to the fact that the building hadn’t been inhabited in 50 years and suffered due to sitting dormant. The exterior needed to be waterproofed and repointed while we were building the interior space. Additionally, this former industrial space had to become a comfortable, functional home.

Our client, a single business man, wanted a luxury apartment that could provide privacy for him while hosting a guest in an open-concept loft. We developed comprehensive interior architecture plans that communicated to the contractor how to carve out two separate suites connected by an enormous living/dining space so everyone could enjoy a socializing and their privacy. Additionally, we laid out the spaces to take advantage of the light from the oversized windows. We love that this project allowed us to flex out interior architecture and design muscles.
