COLD SPRING HIGHLANDS HOUSE
COLD SPRING, NY
Located in Putnam County in the Hudson Valley, the Cold Spring Highlands House was a 1990’s spec house that needed charm, texture, and some serious thought. A whole house renovation, it required us to rethink every single room, every light fixture, every piece of furniture, every bathroom - and create a space that harmonizes with the natural surroundings and the client’s favorite things.
Our client fully embraced the design process. She was open to all kinds of design elements and in fact, we incorporated many of her ideas for fabrics and textures. With her collaboration, we designed a home that sits comfortably in the Hudson Highlands, composed of white oak flooring, textured wallpapers, handmade tile, and painted wall panelling.

Located in Dutchess County in the Hudson Valley, the Livingston Lakehouse experienced a full renovation. Originally a 1980’s wood cabin with very small windows, we wanted to build a connection between the house and its gorgeous surroundings including a lake in the backyard. So, we changed the entire feel of the house by toning down the wood paneling and beams, introducing handmade tiles and bespoke millwork, and installing oversized windows in every room.
Every inch of the house was changed, and we never lost sight of our overarching theme to make the house feel better connected to the land with a modern but cozy theme. Maybe our favorite detail is the double sided sofa in the family room which faces both a custom “stick style” wall unit and a wall of windows overlooking the lake.
